Rangers Rescue Constable, Kill Three Gang Members in Encounter
ISLAMABAD – In a decisive operation against the notorious Khadim Bhayyo gang, Rangers successfully rescued police constable Safdar Mehmood and killed three gang members, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The slain dacoits have been identified as Sohbat Jagirani, Shahid Bhayyo, and Shafique Dahani. Rangers’ spokesperson noted that Sohbat Jagirani had a reward of PKR 500,000 on his head.
In addition, nine gang members were injured during the encounter, including Khadim Bhayyo, Wajid Bhayyo, and Malik Jagirani. Khadim Bhayyo is reportedly carrying a PKR 1 million bounty.
The gang had earlier ambushed a police picket at Qambrani Lado and abducted Constable Safdar Mehmood. A video of the kidnapped officer was later posted on social media by the gang.
Rangers said the operation also led to the demolition of the gang’s hideout. Authorities appealed to the public to report anyone providing shelter or support to criminal elements.
