Lahore — The court on Friday approved a five-day physical remand for Sher Shah, the second son of Aleema Khan, in connection with the May 9 case.
During the hearing, the investigation officer presented video evidence showing Sher Shah at the crime scene, which was also played in court. The officer further requested a 30-day physical remand to conduct photogrammetric and polygraph tests on Imran Khan’s nephew as part of the ongoing investigation.
Defense lawyer Salman Akram Raja opposed the request, questioning why the accused was arrested after a delay of 27 months. “If this trend continues, the entire city will be arrested,” he remarked, urging the court to release Sher Shah instead of granting the remand.
After reviewing the evidence, the court granted a five-day remand, placing Sher Shah in police custody for further investigation.
Sher Shah, who is the second son of Aleema Khan — the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan — was earlier detained by authorities in connection with the May 9 case. The arrest was confirmed by the SSP Investigation.
In a related development, an anti-terrorism court also approved an eight-day remand for Shahrez Khan, another nephew of Imran Khan, in connection with the Jinnah House attack case. DIG Investigation Lahore told the media that Shahrez was wanted by police for his alleged involvement in multiple May 9-related incidents.
