Sinner to Face Alcaraz in Wimbledon Final After Beating Djokovic

Sinner Sets Up Wimbledon Final Rematch with Alcaraz After Dominant Win Over Djokovic

LONDON – A month after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner has stormed into his first Wimbledon final with a commanding 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Novak Djokovic on Friday. The Italian will now face Alcaraz once again, with revenge on his mind and a Grand Slam title within reach.

Their last showdown at the French Open was an epic five-and-a-half-hour battle, where Sinner squandered three match points before Alcaraz roared back to defend his title. Many hailed it as one of the greatest finals in tennis history.

But Sinner insists he has moved on.

“If it were a lot in my head, I would not be in the situation to play a final again,” Sinner told reporters after defeating Djokovic.

Sinner expressed excitement about facing Alcaraz on the grass courts of the All England Club, acknowledging the Spaniard’s dominance on the surface.

“I’m very happy to once again share the court with Carlos. It’s going to be difficult, I know that. But I’m looking forward to it… Sundays in every tournament are special.”

The 22-year-old Italian trails 4-8 in their head-to-head meetings and has lost their last five encounters, but remains optimistic.

“He is the favourite. He won here two times in a row. He’s again in the final. It’s very tough to beat him on grass,” Sinner admitted. “But I like these challenges. I like to go head-to-head and see what I can do and what I can reach.”

Sinner believes growth and adaptability will be key.

“We evolve as players, and we get better as competitors. So, of course, you try to do something different. You don’t want to be predictable on the court.”

Sunday’s final promises to be another thrilling chapter in this modern rivalry — one that could define the next era of men’s tennis.
