Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Istehsal today (August 5) to show support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
On this day in 2019, India illegally ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, a move rejected by Kashmiris, Pakistanis, and the international community.
Events Across the Country
Special events are being held across Pakistan to mark the day. A rally started from the Foreign Office in Islamabad and ended at D-Chowk. People from all walks of life took part.
At 10:00 AM, one minute of silence was observed nationwide to show unity with the Kashmiri people.
Similar rallies and walks are being held in all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Support from Pakistan’s Armed Forces
According to ISPR, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, along with the heads of the Navy, Air Force, and other top officials, expressed strong support for the people of IIOJK.
They praised the courage and struggle of Kashmiris who continue to fight for their rights despite Indian oppression.
Global Support
Pakistani embassies and missions abroad are also organizing events to highlight the Kashmir issue.
Special TV and radio shows are being broadcast to share the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and the harsh conditions they face under Indian rule.
