Actor Ashish Kapoor Arrested in Delhi Rape Case
Delhi police have arrested 40-year-old actor Ashish Kapoor in connection with a rape case reported last month. The complaint, filed at the Civil Lines Police Station, alleges that Kapoor and others sexually assaulted a woman at a house party in the national capital.
The victim, a professional based in Gurugram, claimed that the actor assaulted her in a bathroom during the party in the second week of August.
An FIR was lodged against Kapoor on August 11, after which police launched a nationwide search. “The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he had already slipped away,” a senior officer told the press.
Authorities later tracked Kapoor to Pune, where he was living with a friend, and he was arrested on Tuesday.
The case is under investigation, with police also consulting legal experts to determine the next steps.
