China Slams US Veto on Gaza Genocide Resolution, Urges Support for Palestine at UN
BEIJING – China has strongly criticized the United States for repeatedly using its veto power at the United Nations Security Council, blocking global efforts to address what it called the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Beijing said that without Washington’s obstruction, the Security Council could have taken adequate action against the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed his country’s support for Palestine’s full UN membership under a two-state solution. He stressed that China remains committed to pushing for a ceasefire and an end to the war in Gaza.
“The two-year-long conflict has caused an unprecedented humanitarian disaster,” Wang Yi said, adding that Israel’s actions, which he described as violations of international law, threaten the two-state solution and the broader stability of the Middle East.
The minister outlined three key steps to resolving the crisis: an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, recognition of the Palestinian Authority over its territory, and the firm safeguarding of the two-state solution.
