COAS Asim Munir Visits Turbat, Reaffirms Support for Balochistan’s Development
Turbat, Balochistan – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Turbat, Balochistan, on a mission to review the security situation, assess ongoing development projects, and strengthen cooperation between military and civilian authorities to ensure stability and prosperity in the province.
The COAS was welcomed by Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and other senior officials. During the visit, he received a detailed briefing on security dynamics, including threat assessments and successful operations against Fitna al Hindustan, along with progress on development initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic conditions in southern Balochistan.
In discussions with the Chief Minister and civil administration representatives, Field Marshal Munir stressed the importance of good governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive, people-centered progress. He underlined the critical role of joint civil-military efforts in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Balochistan and reiterated the army’s full support for initiatives that promote the region’s development.
“Pakistan Army stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Balochistan in their pursuit of peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth,” he said.
During his interaction with troops, the COAS lauded their high morale, operational readiness, and dedication to safeguarding national sovereignty. He acknowledged their key role in maintaining peace and stability under challenging conditions. Upon arrival, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Corps Commander of Balochistan.
Earlier, while speaking at an event in Brussels, COAS Munir dismissed rumors of any leadership change, calling them “baseless and malicious.” He stated, “God has made me the protector of this country. Beyond this responsibility, I have no desire for any other position.”
Field Marshal Munir also highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing foreign policy experience, emphasizing the country’s balanced approach toward China and the United States. “We will not sacrifice one friend for another,” he asserted. He praised US President Donald Trump’s commitment to peace, noting Pakistan was the first to support his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize—a move now echoed by other nations.
