The Pakistan Army may be asked to execute coronavirus SOPs, says Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan.

He believes this is possible since coronavirus infections have grown owing to citizen carelessness. On Monday, Dr. Sultan spoke to the media in Islamabad.

He stated that the last few weeks had seen a rise in COVID-19 instances, with the positive rate increasing from 2% to 4%. He also discussed the fast rise in the Delta variant of coronavirus infections after an increase in the Alpha variant.

According to Dr. Sultan, the main reason for this outbreak is a breach of SOPs. Additionally, a novel strain of coronavirus from India added a hue color to it.

Additionally, SAPM Dr. Faisal Sultan believes that the best way to cope with coronavirus is to finish your vaccination. Stick to the rules and wear masks in public areas.

Furthermore, he stated that vaccination is necessary and that the country has an ample supply of vaccinations. Dr. Sultan stated that the existing SOPs and coronavirus limitations must follow.

He stated that people can travel once they have vaccinated. Besides this, he emphasized that it is necessary to have a vaccination certificate to travel l during the forthcoming Eidul Adha celebrations.

COVID-19 situation worsening in Pakistan

On Monday morning, 15 more individuals died from the global coronavirus epidemic, and also 1,808 additional cases had recorded.

According to the latest statistics by the National Command and Operation Center, 47,015 tests for coronavirus had conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, of which 1,808 people tested positive.

As per the official portal, the country’s positivity rate stands at 3.84%.

According to the NCOC, the number of deaths from coronavirus has risen to 22,597 across the country. While the number of people affected has reached 975,092.

Sindh has the most deaths in the previous 24 hours, followed by Punjab. Nine of the 15 persons who died in the past 24 hours were on ventilators.

As of July 12, there were 38,622 ongoing COVID-19 cases in Pakistan.
