Dwayne Johnsons Dramatic Weight Loss for New Role
Dwayne Johnson Stuns Fans with Dramatic Transformation for Upcoming Role
Hollywood – Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson turned heads last week at the Venice Film Festival during the premiere of the MMA biopic The Smashing Machine, directed by Benny Safdie. Having bulked up for his portrayal of MMA legend Mark Kerr, Johnson appeared almost unrecognizable after shedding a significant amount of weight, prompting speculation about his health.
Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival, Johnson reassured fans that he is perfectly fine. The actor revealed that his weight loss is part of preparation for his next role—playing a quirky, chicken-loving character in Safdie’s upcoming film Lizard Music.
“Benny pitched me the idea, and after about 45 minutes, I said, ‘I am your Chicken Man,’” Johnson shared, describing his character as a whimsical, eccentric man in his 70s whose best friend happens to be a chicken.
“I still have a long way to go,” he added about his transformation. “I’m so excited to hopefully transform again like I did for *Smashing Machine. [It means] eating less chicken.”
The Smashing Machine is set to hit theaters on October 3.
