Shah Rukh Khan should definitely pick up "Sadqay," according to Aashir Wajahat

The song Sadqay by the singing duet Aashir and Nayel Wajahat is currently topping the worldwide rankings for Spotify, gracing Instagram reels all across the subcontinent, and exploding to viral popularity. The gifted young brothers discussed their future goals for the song in an interview with Voice of America Urdu.

When talking about the inspiration for Sadqay, 21-year-old Aashir revealed that no one has ever composed a song about adolescent romance. He was interested in exploring it with his brother. Their new hope, now that their smash song is out, is that Shahrukh Khan would take it up and spread the word.

“We are the biggest fans of Shahrukh Khan,” laughed Nayel, the younger brother. “We would like it if he would pick it up, even though we know he’s not the most active person on social media.”

Collaborating as a group

Aashir and Nayel embodied the perfect couple, laughing and joking with each other throughout the conversation. For instance, even though Aashir is the older brother, he has never once commanded Nayel to just shut up and follow instructions. They laughed together and exclaimed, “That has never happened.”

When the two are working together, they frequently laugh, and they are quite good at working together.

When asked how they divide their chores, Aashir answered, “When it comes to the division of work, I’d say I do 60%, and he does 40%.”

A talented family

Being able to work with such compatibility in a talented family is no easy task. Aashir has composed music for motion pictures since 2022. She starred in a film in 2023, and as of right now in 2024, one of her songs is trending on Spotify.

Aashir jokingly declared, “I’m retiring in 2025.” Notwithstanding his achievements, Aashir is aware of the constant criticism that he faces in his chosen field and that it affects all artists. To overcome negativity, Aashir said, “You can only give your best,” in response to a question. You will succeed if you work hard, put your heart into it, and have excellent intentions.

Nevertheless, in spite of all of their accomplishments, neither brother has experienced the strain of carrying on their parents’ legacy. Aashir remained adamant when asked if he would feature in one of his father’s movies, saying that he would only do it if an actor of his age was needed. After that, I might give it some thought.

While acknowledging that he has no desire to work in the film industry or as an actor, Nayel did said he would consider taking on the proper project if it presented itself.

He declared, “I would do it if the right project came along that suits me personally.” But this is unrelated to the direction his brother’s career is going.

The child singer said, “I told my parents very early on that Aashir is Aashir, and I am different.”

Both brothers laughed out loud when asked which of their brothers’ works they liked. It is something that both parents have embraced.

“That’s akin to inquiring about your favorite child,” Aashir mockingly said.

But after some consideration, Nayel admitted that his father had probably liked his brother’s work more, and Aashir stated that their mother would have approved of anything they made regardless of quality because, well, that’s what moms do!

The brothers harmonized flawlessly as they concluded their conversation with a brief rendition of their hit song. They have time on their side, so who knows what blockbusters they may release in the upcoming years? If Shahrukh Khan hears their cries and takes them up, the possibilities are endless.
