Star of "Heeramandi," Taha Shah Badussha, discusses similarities to "elite actors"

Taha Shah Badussha, who plays the endearing Tajdar Baloch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, talked about being compared to actors who have already demonstrated their abilities repeatedly in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble.

Although Taha acknowledged the talent of these stars, he was honest enough to say that, in his opinion, talent is more important than appearances when he was asked about being compared to Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan and Indian star Vicky Kaushal.

“I think they’re both great actors, performance-wise. I don’t know about the looks,” the rising star responded to the question. Looks don’t matter to me. The performance is important to me. What more could a man want, really, if women are comparing me to Shah Rukh in terms of romance, or if they are comparing me to Fawad or Vicky?

Taha went on, “They’re not comparing me to somebody else,” acknowledging that the similarities are, in reality, excellent praise. I’m being compared to the best actors. These actors are of a higher caliber. Vicky is my brother, too. He was my senior in the acting school Kishore Namit Kapoor. Taha said, illuminating his relationship with Vicky, “We’re close pals. Naturally, he has witnessed my growth, and I have witnessed his. And Vicky was a fantastic actor even at Kishore Namit Kapoor. And I was the best performer in my class.”

When Taha thought back on the praise he received for his performance in Heeramandi, he reflected, “It’s mostly from fans.” Many people from all around the world have commented, “The romance in your eyes makes us think of Shah Rukh Khan.” Taha found great resonance in these comparisons to the fabled king of romance, who was well-known for his ability to emote, and it confirmed his commitment to his work.

Taha responded, “I think sir (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) wrote my character with a mix of both his characters from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas,” when asked if his role Tajdar resembled Salman Khan’s famous Prem. And a tiny bit of himself, too, since he frequently says things like, “This is what I would do if I were there.” It’s a blend, in my opinion. Furthermore, who wouldn’t want to be compared to Shah Rukh and Salman? However, I believe that Tajdar, a character I created, is similar to Prem. And my hero is Shah Rukh, sir. Additionally, he has a unique ability to emote.

Taha’s interpretation of Tajdar has captured the hearts of many, as the character is deep and derived from both love and the fight for independence. Audiences are enthralled with his performance of the love interest of Sharmin Segal’s Alamzeb, a courtesan-in-training from Heeramandi’s Shahi Mahal, as he skillfully strikes a balance between his own needs and his sense of nationalistic passion.

The character of Taha has gained popularity among viewers all around the world due to her moving depiction of dedication and sacrifice in the face of hardship. Taha continues to carve out a name for himself in the profession, winning hearts with every performance because to his ability to conjure genuine emotions and his humility in acknowledging the influence of Indian and Pakistani giants.
