Harbhajan on India Pakistan Cricket Clash
Harbhajan Singh Voices Concerns Over India-Pakistan Cricket Ahead of Asia Cup
Cricket legend Harbhajan Singh has expressed his reservations about India-Pakistan cricket ties, ahead of the Asia Cup clash, during an event organized by Society magazine.
“India-Pakistan matches always grab attention, but after Operation Sindoor, many felt there should be no cricket and no business between the two countries,” Harbhajan remarked. He revealed that the Indian team had even boycotted the World Championship of Legends games for the same reason.
Following the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government had adopted a policy to suspend bilateral sporting ties with Pakistan, limiting encounters to multilateral events only.
Harbhajan, 45, shared that he personally does not support cricket or trade ties with Pakistan. “Everyone has their own perspective, but I believe until relations improve, cricket and business should not take place either,” he said.
However, the former spinner emphasized his respect for the government’s decision to allow India to face Pakistan in the mega event. “That is my view. If the government decides the match should happen, it should. But I feel the relations between the two countries need to be better,” he added.
