According to claims, Jenna Ortega did not withdraw from “Scream 7” in favor of Melissa Barrera

Jenna Ortega, who was instrumental in Scream VI’s success, has decided not to participate in the upcoming Scream VII, which is a setback for the Scream franchise. Melissa Barrera, a fellow celebrity, was also removed after uploading a message criticizing Israel for “genocide and ethnic cleansing.” Her departure follows her departure. Spyglass, a production business, declared that it will tolerate no antisemitism.

Despite the comparisons being made, Variety reports that Ortega’s departure was due to her Wednesday filming schedule. The 21-year-old’s departure, according to insiders, was not in favor of her co-star’s termination because the scheduling dispute existed before the actors’ strike.

Many are urging a boycott of the series and its production company in response to the significant and unexpected changes that the Scream cast is going through. Additionally, some are wondering if Ortega used force. “What a bunch of s***, Jenna Ortega’s decision to not return for Scream 7 has nothing to do with Melissa Barrera’s filibuster. Given that Jenna is publicly in favor of the Palestinian cause and that Melissa was fired less than twenty-four hours earlier, am I really supposed to think this was just a coincidence? GET REAL, wrote a user named X.

“Jenna Ortega was also let go by Scream 7 due to “scheduling difficulties,” and Melissa Barrera was sacked. I am aware that’s correct! F*** Spyglass and f*** Paramount. Another said, “This is the official Scream franchise finale sequence. Another tweet said, “In my opinion, this is the ideal conclusion for the scream franchise #JusticeForMelissaBarrera #MelissaBarrera #scream7,” as did several others.

Deadline reports that the script for Scream VII is still in the works and that the Primetime Emmy nominee must travel to Ireland in April to film Wednesday’s second season on Netflix, which will air into the summer. It is important to note that the Wednesday filming schedule for season two is currently unknown.

In addition, Beetlejuice required a few more days of filming after the SAG-AFTRA strike to coincide with its Labor Day 2024 theatrical release.

Scream VI, which had the franchise’s highest opening gross of $44.4 million domestically and $67 million worldwide, was greatly attributed to Ortega’s efforts. In the earlier Scream movies, Barrera played Sam Carpenter in the just-released Scream VI, while Ortega played Tara Carpenter in 2022’s Scream.
