India-Pakistan Clash Indian Jets Downed in Air Battle
A fight happened between India and Pakistan after a deadly attack in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where 26 people were killed in Pahalgam.
In reply, India started a big military action called “Operation Sindoor”, using drones and airstrikes on Pakistani areas. But Pakistan strongly denied being involved in the Pahalgam attack.
As a response, Pakistan launched its operations: “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos” and “Marka-e-Haq”. During these, Pakistan’s Air Force said it shot down at least six Indian fighter jets, including Rafale jets.
The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Modi, has not officially accepted these losses. But some Indian military officers have privately admitted that jets were lost.
Recently, Captain Shiv Kumar, an Indian military official in Indonesia, spoke at a seminar and confirmed the losses. The event was about India and Pakistan’s air battle and how Indonesia should prepare for such situations.
Captain Kumar said the Indian Air Force lost jets on the night of May 7, 2025, while attacking Pakistan. He explained the losses happened because political leaders told the military not to attack Pakistan’s main military bases or air defenses.
He said, “Yes, we did lose some aircraft.”
This statement has caused anger inside India, as people are now questioning the decisions made by political and military leaders.
Also, on May 10, for the first time, India’s top military leader, General Anil Chauhan, confirmed to Bloomberg TV that jets were lost in the fight with Pakistan. However, he did not say how many.
He said the important thing is to learn from the mistakes, not just count how many jets were downed. He added that the Indian Air Force has improved after the incident.
