Supporters laud Randeep Hooda astonishing transformation

In the movie Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Indian actor Randeep Hooda talks about his preparation process for playing Indian liberation warrior Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The actor drew similarities to actor Christian Bale after he shared a shirtless photo on Instagram, showcasing his dramatic physique change.

Randeep posted a mirror photo to Instagram, showing off his extremely slender figure and enormous shorts. He just put “Kaala Pani” in the caption, which probably refers to his change for the movie’s sequences that are place in the cells jail (Kaala Paani).

One fan responded to the image by saying, “Our own Christian Bale!” in reference to the Hollywood actor’s dramatic physical changes for parts. Another said, “Just look at the dedication…hats off!” in appreciation of Randeep’s commitment. Others praised his dedication, pointing to his prior performance in Sarbjit, in which he significantly reduced his weight in order to be more real.

Randeep had previously posted pictures of himself going to Savarkar’s jail cell in Kalapani. He disclosed that, while on a filming location, he had locked himself in the cage to try to feel what Savarkar went through. “I attempted to lock myself inside this cell during the research for his biopic in order to experience what he must have gone through. He captioned the photo, saying, “I couldn’t stay locked for even 20 minutes where he was locked for 11 years, often in solitary confinement.”

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, which is co-written and directed by Randeep and Utkarsh Naithani, is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films in collaboration with Legend Studios and Avak Films.

In an earlier interview with India Today, the actor narrated how a sequence of circumstances led him to become the director of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. Since there was no actual screenplay for the movie in which I was cast as an actor, I continued to wait for it and to lose weight. Thus, after co-writing it with Utkarsh Naithani, the cosmos worked in mysterious ways. I was given the director’s baton, and it was something I would have most likely done in the future.

According to him, it was like to diving into the deep end of the ocean from the start because it was a large-scale historical drama based on reality and centered around a highly controversial figure. It came down to screenplay writing, directing, post-production, and editing. Thus, because to Mr. Vinayak Damodar Savarkarji, I have advanced from being an actor to a writer, director, and even producer. My learning process has been rapid, and I’m still learning.
