Modi Government Approval Key for Indian Cricket Team’s Pakistan Tour
The Indian cricket team’s possible trip to Pakistan for the ICC Champion’s Trophy next year depends on approval from the Modi government, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI vice-president, made it clear that the team would only go to Pakistan if the government gave the green light. Shukla stressed that the BCCI always follows government directives when it comes to team tours.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is busy making security plans for the Indian team ahead of the Champions Trophy set for February next year. The PCB has suggested Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi as potential venues to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and will ask for input from the participating nations.
