Six ships, according to the Houthis, have attacked in the last 72 hours

In the previous 72 hours, Houthi terrorists in Yemen claimed to have launched six drone and missile assaults against ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

According to a statement from the group’s military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, the Houthis targeted the Maersk Saratoga, APL Detroit, and the Huang Pu after identifying them as either US or British, in addition to the Pretty Lady ship, which they assert was sailing to Israel.

Starting November, the Houthis, who rule over the capital and most of the country, have attacked foreign vessels in the Red Sea in what they claim to be a show of sympathy with the Palestinian people. As a result, starting last month, the US and the UK have launched retaliatory attacks.

Sarea said that the gang also assaulted the Israeli city of Eilat and two US vessels in the Red Sea.

It was not immediately apparent which targets, if any, the drones or missiles had hit.

The US Central Command said on Sunday that Houthis launched missiles close to the Chinese-owned oil ship M/V Huang Pu.

Maersk Saratoga is a division of Maersk Line, Limited (MLL), the Danish company’s US affiliate that ships substantial loads of cargo for the US government, including the Department of State, the Department of Defense, USAID, and other organizations.

It took a while for an A.P. Moller Maersk (MAERSKb.CO) representative to respond.

APL Detroit is a container ship flying the flag of Singapore, whilst Pretty Lady is a handymax ship flying the flag of Malta, according to LSEG data.

Trade via the key Suez Canal, which connects Asia and Europe, has been stifled by the Houthis‘ intensifying drone and missile assault against commercial shipping, forcing many ships to take the longer route across Africa.
