Swift issued a warning against more public endorsements of President Biden

A renowned talent agent has informed Taylor Swift that if she supports Joe Biden in the 2024 election, she will be demonized by millions of Americans and put her personal safety in danger.

In the few months since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, the Love Story singer’s fame has skyrocketed, with images of their pitch-side kiss becoming viral last month.

Prior to tomorrow’s Super Bowl, there has been more talk about Swift, 34, having to travel across nine time zones following her Saturday night performance in Tokyo in order to be in Las Vegas in time for kickoff than there has been about the quarterbacks of the opposing teams.

The Democrats, however, are reportedly seeking to use Swift’s unmatched popularity to their advantage by pressuring her to support Biden in this year’s race.

Swift did, after all, support Mr. Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020 and seemed to regret not denouncing Donald Trump more outspokenly in 2016. However, Professor Jonathan Shalit has cautioned about the dangers that come with Swift entering politics at such a “polarizing” moment.

He said, “I would advise any singer or entertainer to stay away from politics.”

“It’s definitely more complicated than it has ever been for someone to support a politician right now.

He said, “And the reason I say that is a reflection of how complicated global affairs are right now,” before bringing up the continuing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.

Swiftie Dr. Georgia Carroll, who focused her doctoral dissertation on the singer’s fan base, said that a Biden endorsement may incur the anger of some of her admirers due to their strong opposition to his support of Israel.

“I believe there is a chance that people will criticize her for that if she comes out in support,” the woman stated.

Mr. Shalit, chairman of InterTalent Rights Group, cautioned that Swift’s support would put her in danger physically in addition to upsetting some of her fans.

During rumors that she might soon back Mr. Biden, Mr. Trump’s supporters were allegedly preparing a “holy war” against the celebrity.

Right-wing conspiracy theories were aroused by it, speculating that Swift is a covert Pentagon operative and that her connection to Mr. Kelce was contrived to support Mr. Biden.

Mr. Shalit warned her that she would be “vilified by a massive number of people in a way she’s never experienced” if she got involved in politics before this year’s election.

Because there are many extremists out there, he added, “I also think that she does get involved, she also adds personal risk to herself.”

Swift has not previously been put off voicing her opinion by the potential fallout.

In her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, footage showed Swift being warned that people may think she was condemning the then-president by coming out in support of a Democratic candidate for the Senate in Tennessee 2018.

“I don’t care if they write that,” she responded. “I’m sad I didn’t say it two years ago.”

But even if she ignores the potential pitfalls, it’s not clear whether Swift’s support would have the power to swing the pendulum in Mr Biden’s favour.
