Panic on Iraqi Flight Ends Safely with Emergency Landing in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — Panic gripped passengers onboard an Iraqi aircraft after a sudden cabin pressure issue forced the crew to initiate emergency landing procedures on Monday.

Videos circulating on social media show tense moments inside the cabin, with frightened passengers reacting anxiously as the situation unfolded.

The aircraft eventually landed safely in Baghdad, with no injuries reported. Ur Airlines later confirmed that a “technical issue” had prompted the precautionary landing. The airline assured that all passengers and crew were safe and that alternative arrangements were being made to transport travelers to Beirut.

Amid speculation, Iraqi Airways clarified that the incident did not involve one of its planes. The stories saying one of our planes landed in an emergency are false. That aircraft belongs to another airline and has nothing to do with Iraqi Airways,” the national carrier said in a statement. The airline also reaffirmed its commitment to international safety standards and routine fleet inspections.

The incident has reignited debate over flight safety and the importance of clear communication from airlines during emergencies.
