Shahrez Khan Arrested in Lahore
Lahore Police Arrest Shahrez Khan in Connection with May 9 Cases, Mother Alleges Abduction by Armed Men
LAHORE — Shahrez Khan, wanted by Lahore police for his alleged involvement in multiple May 9-related incidents, has been taken into custody as part of an ongoing crackdown on those accused of orchestrating or participating in unrest and violence during the events.
Speaking to the media, DIG Investigation Lahore confirmed Shahrez’s arrest, emphasizing that authorities are pursuing suspects linked to the May 9 disturbances.
However, Shahrez’s mother, Aleema Khan, claims that her son was forcibly taken from their home by four armed men in plain clothes. According to Aleema, the men entered the house through the kitchen, harassed household staff, and seized Shahrez while he was on the upper floor with his wife and father.
In a post on X, Aleema wrote, “Last night, several plainclothes armed men stormed my residence in Lahore. They brutally assaulted our staff, harassed my daughter-in-law, and forcibly took away my son, Shahrez Khan, in front of his two young daughters.”
Aleema further criticized the government’s actions over the past three years, stating that a “fascist regime” has conducted raids, abductions, and harassment against countless civilians. “Yet, despite their brutality, they have failed to break Imran Khan,” she added, expressing resilience in the face of ongoing political tensions.
