Artworks from Pakistani artists to be shown at the esteemed expo in Italy

Makhdoom Arfeen Hashmi is an artist from Pakistan whose modern work has been chosen to be shown at the Anima Mundi Art Fair in Venice, Italy. This means that Hashmi will be representing Pakistan in an international arena.

This year’s art expo, an international display of paintings, photography, sculpture, video art, installation, and performance art, will run from April through June.

Rahim Yar Khan native Arfeen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Lahore’s National College of Arts (NCA). He’s a visual artist by trade right now.

Arfeen claimed to have collaborated with several galleries both domestically in Pakistan and abroad, such as in Vienna and Venice.

“I am the only Pakistani artist whose work was chosen at the Anima Mundi Art Fair in Venice. This exhibition will run for a month starting in May,” he stated.

Arfeen stated that he has been interested in art since he was a little boy while discussing his passion in the area. He added that while he was in school, he had intended to go NCA and earn a fine arts degree.

According to the young artist, the artwork he would be showcasing at the event is contemporary art rather than conventional art.

“The destruction and burning of agriculture, together with my personal history, are the main subjects of my artwork. It also addresses the issue of global warming and the state of the globe generally, both positively and negatively,” he told Geo.tv.

According to Arfeen, this event happens in Venice each year, but since it coincides with the 60th Venice Biennale of Art, a significant European event, it is more significant this year.

“The promotion of modern art by a Pakistani artist that portrays Pakistan in a positive light is a fantastic opportunity. Globally, collectors and art enthusiasts attend the event, he added.
