Imran Khan Selects Mashal Yousafzai for KP Senate Seat
Imran Khan Picks Mashal Yousafzai for Senate Seat
PTI founder Imran Khan has chosen Mashal Yousafzai for the women’s Senate seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar released an official notice confirming this decision. Other party candidates—Sajida Begum, Mumena Basit, Samira Shams, and Saima Khalid—have been told to withdraw by July 30.
The by-election for this Senate seat will be held on July 31. The seat became vacant after PTI’s Sania Nishtar stepped down. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has already shared the election schedule.
There were rumors that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, recommended Mashal for the seat. However, her sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo, denied this.
She said, “I am 100 percent sure that Bushra Bibi did not recommend Mashal Yousafzai for any role. I don’t know who recommended her.”
Maryam added that Barrister Saif gave a list of names to Imran Khan, but no one knows exactly what was discussed or approved.
