Petitioner Challenges Mohsin Naqvi’s Senate Seat Over PCB Role

Petitioner Challenges Mohsin Naqvi's Senate Seat Over PCB Role

Mashkoor Hussain the petitioner filed a plea through his legal representative Advocate Nadeem Sarwar naming the federal government Ministry of Interior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Mohsin Naqvi as respondents.

In his argument, Hussain contended that Naqvi was ineligible to contest for a Senate seat because he was serving as the Chairman of PCB at the time of his nomination. According to the petitioner, this constituted a violation of Article 63 of the Constitution, which prohibits individuals from holding two offices simultaneously.

The petition calls on the Lahore High Court (LHC) to issue an order to remove Mohsin Naqvi from his Senate seat, highlighting the constitutional incompatibility of his dual roles.
