In eight years, Ahsan Iqbal hopes to turn Pakistan into an economy that exports $100 billion
On Wednesday, the Steering Committee convened for the first time in order to ensure the smooth operation of the 5Es framework. Ahsan Iqbal, the federal minister of planning, presided over the meeting.
Participants at the conference included representatives from both federal and provincial government ministries. Following Eid, the steering committee decided to have a special workshop. To discuss how to make the framework function, participants from all relevant government ministries and other groups will be brought together for this session.
Exports, E-Pakistan, environment and climate change, energy and infrastructure, and equity and empowerment are the five key pillars of the 5Es framework. This framework was approved by the National Economic Council last year, and the Planning Ministry is currently hard at work implementing it.
Experts from many industries, including corporations and colleges, will present their ideas throughout the event. They will talk about putting the 5Es framework into practice. The meeting’s minister requested that all government agencies provide compelling ideas for the workshop that were relevant to their particular “E.”
According to him, Pakistan should concentrate on accumulating foreign exchange reserves and ensuring the prosperity of critical sectors like as agriculture, manufacturing, and services. He also discussed the significance of utilizing modern technology to improve Pakistan. The main objective is for Pakistan’s economy to generate $100 billion in export revenue during the next seven to eight years.
