Mobile Phone Imports in Pakistan Drop in 2024–25
Pakistan imported fewer mobile phones this year compared to last year, according to new data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
From July 2024 to June 2025, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $1.494 billion, which is lower than $1.898 billion in the same period last year.
In June 2025, mobile phone imports dropped by almost 50% compared to June 2024. The imports were $139.42 million in June 2025, while they were $278.57 million in June 2024.
However, compared to the month before, mobile imports increased by 39.6%. In May 2025, the imports were $99.87 million.
Overall Trade Performance
Exports from Pakistan went up by 4.67% this year.
July–June 2024–25: $32.11 billion
July–June 2023–24: $30.68 billion
Imports into Pakistan also rose by 6.57%.
Last year: $54.78 billion
This year: $58.38 billion
New System for Overseas Pakistanis
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a Temporary Mobile Registration System. This system helps overseas Pakistanis and foreign visitors use their mobile phones in Pakistan for up to 120 days.
The registration is free.
The process is fully digital.
Visitors can register their phones without paying duties or taxes through the Device Registration System (DRS) portal.
