PTI wants to be "imposed on country via help from the establishment," according to Sanaullah

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) attacked the former governing party, alleging that the Imran Khan-led party was trying to retake power with the backing of the establishment, following the unexpected remarks made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi.

“The ideology of the Pakistan Terrorists is not political,” Sanaullah claimed on Saturday’s Naya Pakistan segment of Geo News. He continued by saying that the establishment supported the PTI’s desire to be “imposed” on the nation.

He proposed that if all political parties got together and institutions operated within the bounds of the constitution, all issues would be settled. According to the former interior minister, there would be no objections if the nation reached political stability through discussion.

Sanaullah, criticizing the PTI, claimed that although the party was openly declaring to have talks with the establishment, it was making all kinds of accusations against the ruling PML-N.

He was referring to Afridi’s most recent remarks, in which he suggested that instead of speaking with the “rejected rulers,” talks should be held with the head of the army and the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI).

The PTI, however, did not agree with Afridi’s assertion.

PTI Secretary Information Raoof Hasan stated on the same broadcast that they established a committee to have talks with the establishment more than a year and a half ago.

“Although no contact has been made thus far, we are prepared to hold talks with the establishment,” he continued.

According to Hasan, the ruling parties—the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and the PML-N—have “stole our mandate,” and his party would not engage in talks with them.

Rejecting Sanaullah’s accusation that the PTI has a clear political doctrine, he stated that the party created by Imran Khan has formed a six-party coalition, indicating that it is prepared to engage in dialogue with all political groups.

He made it clear that Afridi’s remarks did not reflect the position of his party. “We intend to have discussions with the establishment to clarify its constitutional role,” Hasan declared, stating that PTI founder Imran Khan would not serve a nine-month prison sentence if he were to reach an agreement with the ruling class.

PTI senior leader Shehryar Afridi declared on Friday that his party will have “dialogues with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) soon” in place of speaking with “rejected people” who entered the parliament using “Form 47,” following calls to start a new round of reconciliation negotiations.

Afridi gave the remarks in response to a question regarding how to steer the nation toward political stability.

“My commander is opposed to any NRO. Afridi stated, “We want dialogues for the betterment of Pakistan. Khan wants to engage all stakeholders for a better country, but he hasn’t heard back.” He made it clear that neither the PTI nor the military or other state institutions were acting against the interests of the country.

The top spy and the head of the army will soon have discussions with the Imran-founded party, according to the former federal minister. Other than that, neither he nor any other party leader had confirmed the assertion.
