Pakistan Leads UNSC Urges Peace and Diplomacy
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, confirmed that Pakistan is now leading the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for July.
He said Pakistan has always supported peace talks and solving problems through diplomacy.
Shafqat Ali Khan said Pakistan brings a fair and balanced view to the UNSC. This view is based on its foreign policy, experience in the Council, and its long history of helping in UN peacekeeping missions.
He added that Pakistan has made the Council’s work plan for July in a transparent and fair way, after talking with other members.

He also mentioned that Pakistan understands there are many serious problems affecting peace and security in different parts of the world, like the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
He said these global crises are causing great human suffering, and the Security Council needs to act quickly, fairly, and with strong results.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said in a post on social media that Pakistan is taking on this leadership role with humility and deep responsibility.
He said Pakistan’s leadership comes at a time when many conflicts and humanitarian crises are growing around the world. Pakistan will try to guide the Security Council to take meaningful action by encouraging peace, dialogue, and diplomacy.
Ishaq Dar also said Pakistan looks forward to working with all UN member countries to find fair, inclusive, and practical solutions.
