Pakistan Prepares Youth for Future Jobs Under CPEC and Uraan Pakistan Program

ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan is taking big steps to prepare young people for future jobs as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the new “Uraan Pakistan” program.

According to state-run news agency APP, the focus is now on business and industry partnerships. The goal is to build a skilled workforce for a modern, high-tech economy.

The government is following China’s successful model of vocational training, helping the youth learn new skills in areas like artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, and green technology.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan must act fast to train its youth for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He said countries that succeed in skills and innovation will lead in the future.

He was speaking at a ceremony in Beijing where an agreement was signed between Pakistan’s NAVTTC and the Higher Education Institute of Technology.

Minister Iqbal said that without proper training, young people may lose job opportunities, but with smart planning, Pakistan can enter a new era of progress.

Pakistan has one of the youngest populations in the world, with nearly two-thirds under the age of 30. The government wants to turn this youth power into a strength for the country’s economy.

The Uraan Pakistan program is a key part of the government’s 5Es Framework for economic growth. So far, NAVTTC has trained 1.5 million youth, and 70% of them have found good jobs, with their incomes going up by 30% on average.
