Peshawar: Gul Panra shot dead
PESHAWAR – A transgender person was killed and another injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on them in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital, police confirmed on Wednesday.
The deceased transgender activist has been identified as Gul Panra along with a friend came under attack in Peshawar’s Palosi neighborhood yesterday night.
According to the FIR, a group of transgender persons had gone to perform at a wedding function and were preparing to leave when unknown people opened fire on them. The report further said that the victim would be able to identify those involved in the shooting.
The motive behind the shooting is not yet clear, Superintendent of Police of Cantt Hassan Jahangir Wattoo said, adding that an investigation is going on.
Capital City Police Officer Mohammad Ali Gandapur also took notice of the incident and constituted a special team, which will be headed by SP Wattoo, to investigate and arrest the those responsible.
The wounded person was shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), while an investigation into the murder is underway.

According to reports, the masked assailants opened fire on the eunuchs, killing the well-known transgender Gul Panra on the spot, while another trans Chahat, was shot and injured and has been shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment.
