As per Imran, Saudi Arabia was not involved in the "regime change"

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, said on Thursday that Saudi Arabia was not involved in the “regime change operation.”

The declaration follows the opinions voiced by Sher Afzal Marwat, the head of the firebrand party, in an interview with a private TV station concerning the kingdom’s alleged involvement in a “regime change operation,” which the party holds responsible for the toppling of Imran Khan’s administration.

In an appearance on a pay television network on Tuesday, Marwat hinted that the United States and Saudi Arabia were involved in the fall of Imran Khan’s regime. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, made a high-profile visit at the same time as this announcement.

A day later, though, the PTI’s central leadership and spokesman disassociated themselves from Marwat’s opinions, claiming that the party chief’s opinions in no way represent the party’s position or strategy.

PTI leaders communicated Imran Khan’s remarks about the matter to the media following their meeting with the party founder in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

The former prime minister and PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council chairman, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, claimed that they had political talks at Adiala Jail.

He said that PTI chief Shibli Faraz will become the Senate’s Leader of the Opposition, and that his nomination papers are scheduled to be turned in today.

He said that talks on holding demonstrations across Punjab will take place at the six-party opposition coalition conference on April 29.

According to PTI leader Raoof Hasan, his party had triumphed and the opposition had fallen. “This is the last phase. He went on, “Imran Khan will shortly be released from prison and become prime minister of the nation.
