Punjab Rivers on Flood Alert
A high flood alert has been issued downstream of the Harike and Ferozepur barrages.
According to reports, the Indian High Commissioner has officially informed Islamabad about the flood alert at 8:00 am today.
Yesterday also issued an alert of India’s water release into the Sutlej.
A flood stream after devastating the central Punjab region is currently passing through the south Punjab.
The flood flow will move to the Guddu Barrage in Sindh from the Punjnad headworks. The water flow of 5,43,579 cusecs is passing through Trimmu Barrage. Head Punjnad is also experiencing furious high flood currently with 5,64,604 cusecs of water.
Punjab’s rivers are witnessing a dangerous upsurge in water levels, according to the Flood Forecasting Division.
The Ravi River is swelling, with high flood at Sidhnai with 1,23,168 cusecs, while also flooding at Shahdara and Balloki.
In the Chenab River, flows have surged to 543,000 cusecs at Head Trimmu, while Head Khanki and Qadirabad each recorded 145,000 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the Sutlej River poses the most critical threat, with 319,000 cusecs at Ganda Singh Wala and 564,000 cusecs at Head Panjnad.
