Punjab Govt Employee Licence Drive
Punjab Launches Special Drive to Facilitate Government Employees for Driving Licences
Punjab authorities have launched a special campaign to make it easier for government employees to obtain driving licences. The initiative, which started on September 16, will run until September 26, with services available at traffic offices and through mobile licensing vans.
A spokesperson warned that after September 26, strict action will be taken against anyone found driving without a valid licence, with no exceptions.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun noted that a significant number of government employees currently do not hold valid driving licences. “As government servants, accountability should begin with ourselves,” he emphasized.
The CTO added that violators will face strict penalties, including vehicle impoundment and departmental action.

According to a spokesperson, the police are actively enforcing traffic laws across the province. In the same period, 37,236 traffic challans were issued, generating fines totaling Rs21 million.
Authorities also fined 343 smoke-emitting vehicles, 29 of which were impounded at police stations.
