Qamar’s Harrowing Kidnapping Shock Torture and Unexpected Support from Indian Fans
In a podcast interview, Qamar detailed his kidnapping experience, stating that he initially hesitated to file an FIR because the kidnappers had named Noman Ijaz and Saba Qamar.
“I despise Noman Ijaz, but he is a very good actor. Despite my differences with Saba Qamar, I admire her acting. These are not the kind of people who would do such a thing,” Qamar said, suggesting that the kidnappers aimed to confuse and mentally disturb him.
Qamar expressed surprise at the support he received from his Indian fans during the ordeal, contrasting it with the hostility and mockery he faced in Pakistan. “I didn’t know the kidnappers’ motives. I was just worried about my wife and daughters. When they tortured me, I told them to kill me if they wanted,” he added.
He shared that his wife now wishes to leave Pakistan due to the distress caused by the incident, but he remains deeply attached to his homeland and has no plans to emigrate.
The kidnapping and robbery incident occurred last week in Lahore. According to the police, a woman called Qamar and invited him to her house under the pretext of discussing a drama project. Upon his arrival, armed men abducted him and carried out the robbery.
Qamar reportedly paid a large sum to the kidnappers, who then released him. The Sundar police station in Lahore registered a case based on Qamar’s statement.
The first information report (FIR) states that the suspects tortured Qamar and took him to various locations.
Qamar alleged that the kidnappers threatened to kill him and demanded money from his relatives. The FIR also mentions that the suspects stole Qamar’s mobile phone, watch, and cash, and transferred Rs250,000 from his ATM card.
The scriptwriter further stated in the FIR that the kidnappers blindfolded him and left him in a deserted area before fleeing.
