Rabi-ul-Awwal 2025 Moon Sighting in Islamabad
Islamabad to Host Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Meeting for Rabi-ul-Awwal Moon Sighting
ISLAMABAD — The main meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Islamabad under the leadership of Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt confirmed.
At the same time, Zonal and District committees will conduct their meetings at designated locations across the country. The Central Committee will make the final announcement on the sighting of the moon after reviewing testimonies submitted from various regions.
Meanwhile, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has shared its prediction for the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon 2025 sighting. According to the commission, the moon that marks the start of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri is expected to appear on August 23 at 11:06 AM.
By the evening of August 24, the moon will be 32 hours and 13 minutes old, which, SUPARCO says, increases the likelihood of it being visible. In coastal areas, the moon will set approximately 45 minutes after sunset, creating favorable conditions for moon sighting.
The sighting of this moon will signal the beginning of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Islamic month in which Muslims around the world celebrate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
