Rain Chaos in Saudi Arabia Schools Closed, Roads Flooded, Cities Grapple with Climate Crisis

In Saudi Arabia, heavy rainfall caused problems like closed schools and flooded roads in many areas. Places like Qassim had cars submerged in flash floods because of seven hours of rain, which measured over 10 centimeters in some spots.

Red alerts were given for Qassim, Riyadh, Eastern Province, and Medina, warning of heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms. Schools in these places switched to online classes because of the floods.

Riyadh also faced some road flooding, and big cities often have trouble with drainage during such rains. This comes after heavy rains in April, which experts say were made worse by global warming from fossil fuel emissions.
