Shooters Confess to Attack on YouTuber Rajab Butt’s Home, Police Link Incident to Online Feud
LAHORE – Police have arrested multiple suspects in connection with the recent gun attack on the residence of controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt, revealing that the assault was ordered by a man identified as Shani Tiger at the behest of Shehzad Bhatti.
According to investigators, the suspects confessed during interrogation that the shooting was carried out at Rajab Butt’s house following instructions from Shani Tiger. Two other men, Usman and Luqman, were also involved in the attack and were reportedly present in a vehicle at the crime scene.
Initial findings suggest the motive for the attack stemmed from a heated online altercation between Rajab Butt and Shehzad Bhatti. Police say that Bhatti requested Shani Tiger to target the YouTuber, prompting the failed shooting attempt.
Law enforcement officers from Chuhang Police Station arrested the suspects during targeted raids in Valencia and nearby localities. The accused have been transferred to the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) for further investigation.
Last week, unidentified individuals opened fire at Rajab Butt’s house. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Butt, who is currently residing abroad, is out on interim bail in a high-profile case under PECA and Section 295-C, relating to blasphemy allegations.
