RATO DERO – A key suspect in the gang rape case of a teenage mentally challenged girl was shot dead in a police encounter near the Sailra Bypass in Rato Dero, officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to law enforcement sources, the police conducted a targeted raid in the area following intelligence reports about the presence of armed criminals. Upon arrival, the suspects opened fire on the raiding team, triggering a retaliatory exchange.
During the crossfire, one suspect—identified as Rizwan alias Kaloo—was killed on the spot. Rizwan was the main accused in the high-profile gang rape case and had been formally nominated in the ongoing investigation.
