Ronaldo Eyes First Trophy vs Al Ahli

Al Ahli and Al Nassr Set for Saudi Super Cup Showdown, Ronaldo Eyes First Trophy with Riyadh Giants

Both Al Ahli and Al Nassr are gearing up to claim their first trophy of the season in what promises to be an electrifying Saudi Super Cup final this Saturday.

Al Ahli secured their spot after a dominant 5-1 victory over Al Qadsiah in a semi-final filled with VAR drama at Hong Kong Stadium. Despite conceding early, the Jeddah side responded with an unstoppable first-half surge, booking their place in the decider.

Al Nassr, meanwhile, narrowly overcame reigning champions Al Ittihad 2-1 in the semi-final, setting the stage for a thrilling clash between two of Saudi football’s biggest names.

For Al Nassr supporters, the matchup carries extra excitement thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarkable record against Al Ahli. Since joining the Riyadh club in 2023, the 40-year-old superstar has faced Al Ahli four times, winning three matches and drawing once. Al Ahli, in contrast, has not beaten Al Nassr since 2022, recording two draws and three defeats in their recent encounters. Ronaldo has also found the net three times against the Jeddah-based team.

Despite his phenomenal goal-scoring form in Saudi Arabia—93 goals in 106 appearances—Ronaldo is still chasing his first official trophy with Al Nassr. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined the club on a free transfer from Manchester United in early 2023 and has already claimed back-to-back Saudi Pro League Golden Boots, demonstrating his continued dominance on the pitch.

Saturday’s final offers Ronaldo another chance to finally lift a title with Al Nassr, as the Riyadh giants look to cap their campaign with Saudi Super Cup glory.
