In a related development, the National Savings Directorate has finalized preparations for the launch of digital prize bonds in Pakistan. These bonds will be issued in denominations of Rs500, Rs1,000, Rs5,000, and Rs10,000 and will be accessible to National Savings account holders. The government expects investments in these digital bonds to range between Rs800 billion and Rs1,000 billion.
The digital bonds are designed to be highly secure, eliminating the risk of counterfeiting or theft. The concept of anonymous bonds will be removed to comply with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) regulations. A dedicated mobile application will facilitate the issuance and management of these digital bonds, making it easier for investors to participate.
