The court has adjourned the hearing until September 25 for further proceedings.
Background
Sana Yousuf, a popular TikTok creator, was shot dead in Islamabad on June 3. Reports suggest that 22-year-old Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, had been pursuing Sana for a “friendship,” which she consistently rejected. This reportedly led to a violent confrontation.
Eyewitnesses and sources close to the incident stated that during their final encounter, Sana tried to calm the situation, reportedly saying, “You’re getting agitated, leave this place. There are CCTV cameras, please depart,” just moments before gunshots rang out.
Sana suffered two gunshot wounds and died at the scene. The suspect fled, while her body was later taken to PIMS Hospital for a post-mortem. Following legal formalities, the body was returned to her family.
The case has been officially registered as a murder at Sumbal Police Station.
