'The Glassworker' Urdu version to star Khaled Anam and Mooroo among others

Mano Animation Studios revealed the cast of the animated feature film The Glassworker on its Instagram account. The film is set to be released in theaters around Pakistan this summer and has both English and Urdu voice actors.

An upcoming original hand-drawn movie called The Glassworker is being developed by Mano Animation Studios and directed by Usman Riaz. The offering, which has anime-inspired graphics, is Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated movie. An image of the Urdu voice cast, which stars Khaled Anam as Tomas Oliver, Mooroo as Vincent Oliver, and Mariam Paracha as Alliz Amano, was released by Mano Animation Studios.

The English voice cast, which stars Art Malik as Tomas Oliver, Sacha Dhawan as Vincent Oliver, and Anjli Mohindra as Alliz Amano, was also included in a picture released by the studio.

Social media users are excitedly anticipating the movie’s premiere and have compared the animation to those of Studio Ghibli. On the well-known community Reddit, a fan remarked, “Even though this film clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Ghibli, I think it still has quite a few unique elements that differentiate it.” “I hope we’ll see more of this, like the local cultural elements scattered throughout the teaser/showreel.”

The Glassworker, according to Mano Animation Studios, is about a little boy named Vincent and his father Tomas, who operate the best glass studio in the nation, and how their lives are turned upside down by an approaching war in which they have no desire to participate. Their world is upended and their father-son bond is put to the test when an army colonel and his young, gifted daughter, Alliz, arrive in their village.

The conflicting ideologies of their dads continually threaten the growing affection between Vincent and Alliz. This is a moment when social status and patriotism are valued more highly than individual freedom of thought and artistic endeavor.
