Is Aaron Rodgers going to get a lifetime ban from the NFL?

Online rumors have been spreading recently that Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, might receive a lifelong ban from the National Football League (NFL) for his “suspiciously quick” recovery.

However, a Snopes inquiry into the story revealed that it was a hoax and that it was not true.

The fact-checking website claims that early this month, a sponsored advertising starring Rodgers that was inaccurate and deceptive appeared on Meta’s Facebook page.

“Aaron Rodgers facing lifetime suspension,” the advertisement stated.

When consumers clicked on the advertisement, which said that the MVP of Super Bowl XLV would face a “lifetime suspension,” they were sent to a website that looked a lot like Fox News.

Even Brit Hume, the leading political commentator for Fox News, was given credit for writing the piece.

The headline said, “Aron Rodgers is apprehended! Something startling comes to light from the NFL’s inquiry into his “suspiciously quick” recuperation.”

According to the report, a substance called Bloom CBD Gummies is responsible for Aaron Rodgers’ recent quick recovery from an Achilles tendon injury he suffered during the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills in September of last year.

But Snopes found that the scam post was entirely made up to promote a scam and was uploaded on a website named Cickross rather than Fox News.

Worse, an ICANN Lookup tool check of Cickross revealed that the domain’s registrant could be based in China.

It’s important to note that, according to Snopes, Meta has been taking payments since at least October 2023 in order to run these fictitious and deceptive sponsored advertisements claiming Rodgers will get a lifelong suspension.

This indicates that customers have been exposed to these advertisements for CBD gummy frauds for the past six months with seemingly little to no opposition from the multibillion-dollar social media corporation.
