Pakistan visit begins with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy
After being displayed in Islamabad on Thursday, the trophy for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will travel to two more significant Pakistani towns.
The US, where the big event’s opening match will take place, hosted the start of the Trophy Tour last month.
The trophy arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday night and is presently on show at the national capital’s National Assembly.
The “Out of this World” trophy will also make stops in Lahore and Abbottabad during its three-day journey.
On Saturday, the trophy will arrive at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The last Twenty20 International Series encounter between Pakistan and New Zealand is scheduled for that same day. Throughout the game, the trophy would be on display at Gaddafi Stadium.
Recall that the illusive trophy will travel to 15 nations on four continents, where it will be presented by renowned cricket players in some of the world’s greatest stadiums.
The trophy will go to developing nations like Brazil, Argentina, Canada, and others in addition to well-known cricketing nations, in an effort to foster a sense of connection and interest in the game.
One of the most anticipated World Cup matches is scheduled to take place on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York between Pakistan and India, who are teammates in Group A.

Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States
Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal
It is important to note that the top two teams from each of the four groups of five that comprise the 20 qualifying teams will advance to the Super 8 phase.
At that point, the qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four once again. The top two teams go to the semi-final, where the winners will play in the championship game.
The West Indies will not have hosted a T20 World Cup before, since England won the competition in 2010.
However, this is the first time the US will host a major event like the World Cup.
After defeating Pakistan in the championship match to win the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, England is the reigning champion.
