Pakistan vs. Australia: PCB plans to fine ‘ill-disciplined’ cricket players $500

PCB plans to fine 'ill-disciplined' cricket players $500

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the decision to penalize players who are discovered to be “sleeping” in the locker room during the current Test series against Australia.

The sources who were informed of the development disclosed that some players had been discovered sleeping in the dressing room, which prompted the decision to closely monitor those who were not participating in the game.

“The players are aware of the development and have received a warning. It is carried out per Team Director Mohammad Hafeez’s directions.”

According to the sources, there would be a $500 fine for every player found to have broken the code of conduct. It will take time to break old habits, they added.

The reports claim that during the previous administration, the players slept in the dressing room. They have since been informed that this will no longer be permitted.

In Melbourne, Pakistan is presently engaged in the second Test of the three-match series. The first Test match was defeated by the Green Shirts in Perth, and the third Test will begin on January 3 in Sydney.

It’s significant to note that Hafeez took Mickey Arthur’s place as team director after the World Cup 2023 shake-up, in which the PCB Management Committee, led by Zaka Ashraf, fired the whole management staff.

The board has also made changes to the coaching staff for bowling and batting.
