Texting Styles-How You Text Your Personality

Welcome Back!

Last time, we did a short segment on emojis. If you read that article, you know that repeating particular emojis gives off certain impressions to the recipients. This time, however, we are going to discuss texting styles. What’s a texting style, you might ask. Well, if you text often, you must have a methodical approach to it. Now, I’m not trying to make it more complicated than it seems but when we text, we sort of follow a pattern. Of course, this pattern comes so naturally to us; we often don’t even think about it! However, with psychology, we can learn how we text our personalities to our contacts. Keep reading to find out what your friends think of how based on what you text them!

Make way for the Emojis

Emojis have become a vital component in our texting games. However, if you use emojis frequently, it might mean that you are expressive and open to reveal your emotions. Even though everything is digital, you want others to know how’re feeling. Also, to emphasize what tone you are texting in, you always make sure to use an emoji and that’s completely fine. According to a research study, emojis were found to be an effective aid in modern social communication. Furthermore, they were used to build intimacy and reveal self-disclosure.

Quick and Short Texting Game

People who tend to reveal their thoughts in short and quick texts rather than long ones are usually energetic. In fact, you might be the cool kid and super popular with your friends! Also, you tend to use ‘text language’ like brb, lol, omg, smh, rotfl, ikr, irl, uwu, lmao, etc. Now, others might perceive you as lazy because you tend to write extremely short texts, but, they are just wrong.

I’m Silently Judging Your Grammar

Finally, my kind of texting style. Although, I have to admit that being an English major kind of forces me to use this style but I prefer and use it more often than any of my classmates or colleagues. So, nice try… you can’t mask your intentions! Anyways, people like this (welcome to our exclusive gang) are often misunderstood. In a research study conducted in 2016, the results manifested that simply adding a dot (.) at the end of the text made you appear untrustworthy and insincere. If you text this way, you are most probably thoughtful and analytical. Additionally, you prefer face-to-face conversations to texting. Furthermore, you are a thinker and logical person.

Lonnnnng Paragraphs

Right from the start, people will think that you have a lot to say. Also, you are a person who understands the importance of context and background. Furthermore, you text in long paragraphs because you enjoy deep conversations. In fact, according to a relationship coach, if you are someone who pays attention to details, you prefer control and stability.

One Word Texting Style

So, if you’re the kind of person who prefers to use the iconic ‘K’ when answering someone’s text, you fall into this category. In fact, such people have a reserved personalities. Also, they are not open to showing their emotions to others. Perhaps you’re busy or just introverted. Additionally, you are independent and logical.
