Trade Revival Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Eyes Reopening Trade with India
Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, recently mentioned the chance of reopening trade with India. This comes after trade between the two countries was halted in August 2019 due to India’s decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the Pakistan High Commission in London after attending the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, the Foreign Minister highlighted that Pakistani businessmen are keen to resume trade with India. He hinted at a potential shift in diplomatic approach, indicating a willingness to consider restarting trade.
This update comes amid ongoing tensions stemming from India’s actions in 2019, which Pakistan believes have impeded the possibility of constructive dialogue between the two nations.
