Waseem Qadir Confidently Joins PML-N After Winning Election as Independent
Waseem Qadir, an independent candidate previously supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his decision to join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), expressing full confidence in his move.
In an exclusive interview, Qadir stated, “My conscience is clear because I did not win the election solely on PTI’s support.”
He explained that after winning the polls, he rejoined PML-N at the request of Hamza Shehbaz, with whom he shares a strong relationship.
Qadir also revealed some internal party dynamics, noting that several PML-N members were reluctant to give a party ticket to Sheikh Rohail Asghar from his constituency, due to concerns over Rohail’s popularity among young voters.
Previously serving as PTI Lahore’s general secretary, Waseem Qadir admitted that despite efforts, he was unable to bring the desired changes within PTI.
After PTI’s original candidate withdrew from the race, Qadir decided to run as an independent. Following his victory, Hamza Shehbaz reached out to discuss his political future, which eventually led to Qadir’s return to PML-N.
