On April 17 and 18, Karachi is predicted to have further rains

Another period of moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted for Karachi between April 17 and 18, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Department predicted that on the evening of April 16, a second western disturbance will move into Balochistan, perhaps bringing more rain to the port city.

According to the PMD, “from April 17 (night) to April 19 (morning), rain, wind, and thunderstorm are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar.”

Several more cities including Shikarpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Tando Allahyar, Mipurkhas, Thatta, Umerkot, and Badin districts can also see strong thunderstorms.

Due to the approaching system, areas of Balochistan including Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, and Chagai can potentially see a lot of rain.

The PMD (PMD) issued a warning, stating that flash floods in Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan might result from the current spell. It is highly recommended that inhabitants of these regions take precautionary action and stay up to date on the most recent weather forecasts provided by the authorities.

Earlier on Sunday, the metropolitan area’s heat wave was broken by light to moderate rains that were accompanied by lighting and thunderstorms.

Up until the evening, there was sporadic rain throughout the day, with Surjani Town receiving the most with 29 mm. The highest temperature in the city fell by 7.5 degrees Celsius from the day before.

Rainfall on Sunday was brought on by a westerly system that moved into Sindh and Balochistan from the upper area. Sunday morning saw the beginning of light rain in a few locations, including the suburbs of Gulshan-e-Hadid, Gadap Town, Malir, Superhighway, Surjani Town, and Steel Town. The rain continued all day.

It also began to rain in virtually the whole city gradually. There was light rain and drizzle in the following locations: Old Airport, Bahadurabad, Nazimabad, Saddar, Clifton, DHA, Keamari, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Purani Sabzi Mandi, Jail Road, Old City Area, Garden East and West, Soldier Bazaar, and Ramswami.

The rains were accompanied by moderate gusts, and lightning and thunder were seen in a few locations. The PMD in Surjani recorded the highest rainfall of 29 mm, followed by Nazimabad (21.2 mm), Gulshan-e-Hadid (20 mm), Sharae Faisal and Keamari (19 mm each), PAF Base Masroor (18 mm), Korangi (17 mm), University Road (15.7 mm), North Karachi and Saadi Town (15 mm each), Orangi Town (14.4 mm), Saddar 13 mm, Malir 12 mm, DHA 5.5 mm, and Quaidabad 5 mm.
