WhatsApp update on new Privacy Policy
Recently, WhatsApp has updated its privacy policy which has caused some serious fire. As a result, due to privacy issues and misunderstandings, many users started shifting towards Telegram and Signal.
In the latest Privacy Policy WhatsApp declares how it is a part of Facebook Companies and talks about collecting and sharing information. In addition, it explains how it collects all sorts of information which includes: –
- Account Information
- Messages (delivered, undelivered and media)
- Connections
- Status Information
- Transactions and Payments Data
- Device and Connection Information
- Location
- Cookies
Also, WhatsApp had earlier reached out to its users to explain the policy by putting up a series of “statuses” on the messaging app.
Firstly, the status explained how the privacy of the users is a commitment. Furthermore, they clarified some misunderstandings as:
- We will not share your contacts with Facebook
- WhatsApp can’t see your shared location
- We can not read personal conversations
- All chats have end-to-end encryption
- Whatever you share, stays between you
As a result, it has once again assured its users that their conversation remains “protected” and safe on the widely-used messaging app, stressing that “end-to-end encryption of chats will never change”. In the end, many users understood the terms and conditions. A majority of population is still using WhatsApp. Furthermore, if not for the explanation, Telegram and Signal would have taken all over Facebook Companies.

Whatever you share on WhatsApp, stays between you. That’s because your personal messages are protected by end-to-end encryption and that will never change. pic.twitter.com/3Umwq4wTpP
