14 COVID-19 vaccination centers set up across Sindh
14 COVID-19 vaccination centers are set up across the province. Sindh government established these vaccination centers. Out of these 14 vaccination centers, nine are in Karachi.
Two vaccination centers in each South, East, and Central District and one vaccination center in each Korangi, Malir, and West District.
Other vaccination centers in Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas. These centers have trained staff. Pakistan will receive the first COVID-19 vaccine in the next month. Chinese company Sinopham developed this vaccine.
However, front-line workers will receive free vaccination in the first quarter of 2021.
South District
Out of 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical and Khaliq Dina Hall each have one vaccination center.
East District
Out of 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers, Ojha Campus of the Dow University of Health Sciences and Aga Khan University Hospital each have one vaccination center.
Central District
Out of 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers, Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad and Sindh Government Hospital New Karachi each have one vaccination center.
Other Districts
Sindh Government Hospital Korangi No. 5, Urban Health Centre Thado Nalo, and Sindh Government Qatar Hospital have one vaccination center each.
Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad, the HIS Hospital in Sukkur’s Labour Colony, the Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana, the MCH Society in Nawabshah, and the District Hospital Mirpurkhas have one vaccination center each.
The staff will receive personal protection equipment. The staff received training in handling and administering the vaccine.
Health Secretary Kazim Jatoi visited some of the vaccination centers in Karachi on Tuesday to review the arrangements made at the facilities. He instructed the officials to ensure easy access for the elderly and those with disabilities.
Frontline workers; doctors, nurses, and paramedics will firstly receive the vaccine. Secondly, people over the age of 60 and those with serious chronic comorbidities will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the second phase.
“We need to facilitate the people who are old, those who are disabled and have serious complications. These vaccination centers should function in a manner to prevent people from contracting the disease.”
